Kerastase Blond Absolu Anti-Brass Purple Mask – Best Hair Mask For Blonde Hair Australia / Best Hair Mask For Bleached Hair

Using a purple shampoo helps to remove the brassiness from your hair but it doesn’t offer the additional benefits that this Kerastase purple mask does.
The Kerastase Blond Absolu Purple Mask is the best hair mask for blonde hair, or more correctly it is the best hair mask for bleached hair. This hair mask is formulated to neutralise unwanted brassiness and yellow tones from bleached blonde hair while also deeply nourishing, restoring and reconstructing the hair. It also adds a radiant shine and improves the softness of your hair.
I first used this Kerastase purple masque after a hair bleaching visit to the hairdresser that went horribly wrong in terms of both colour and damage to my hair. This Kerastase mask was able to correct both the colour, ridding my hair of its horrible brassiness, and nourishing my damaged dry hair to look healthy again. 5-10 minutes on my hair was all it took for a significant visible improvement. I then continued using this hair mask once a week to maintain my desired hair tone and condition. This Kerastase Blond Absolu Purple Mask truly worked a miracle on my hair.
Key ingredients of this hair mask include hyaluronic acid, edelweiss flower extract and purple pigments.
The only downside of this mask is its expensive price but when your hair desperately needs fixing like mine did it is totally worth the price.

Bondi Boost Overnight Magic Hair Mask – Best Overnight Hair Mask Australia

Bondi Boost is one of the top Australian haircare brands. Their products are Australian made and cruelty free, using natural, locally sourced ingredients and are free from sulphates, parabens and silicones.
One of my favourite Bondi Boost products is the Bondi Boost Overnight Magic Hair Mask. The results I achieve with this overnight mask truly do seem magical. It is the best overnight hair mask Australia wide.
You simply apply this Bondi Boost thick creamy overnight mask to your dry hair, allow it to penetrate deeply into your hair shaft as you sleep and in the morning you wake up with long lasting intensely nourished and hydrated, soft, smooth and silky hair – magic!
The key ingredients of this powerful overnight mask include biotin, jojoba, niacinamide, vitamin B, mango and shea butter, baobao extract and antioxidant rich green tea. It is rich in fatty acids, especially omega 3, and essential vitamins.
Sometimes I prefer not to sleep with a mask in my hair. On these occasions I choose a day when I am working from home and apply this mask to my hair in the morning. I then twist my hair up in a bun for the work day and rinse the mask out at the end of the day. It works perfectly and on zoom meetings with colleagues they can’t tell I’ve got a mask in my hair.
A final advantage of this overnight mask is its price. It is not as expensive as many of the other top hair masks.

I did try this mask because my hair is quite dry but due to the richness of this mask it tended to weigh my fine hair down too much. As a result I passed this creamy mask onto my sister who has much thicker hair than I do. She absolutely loved it, achieving visible results after just one 5 minute application. Kevin Murphy is one of the best Australian haircare brands so it is no surprise that the Kevin Murphy Angel Masque is the best hair mask for fine hair. It is also suitable for dry, damaged and coloured hair.

The key ingredients of the Kevin Murphy Angel Masque include three different strengthening proteins including quinoa extract proteins that bind to the hair shaft to deliver strength and repair. Tripeptides bond to repair hair wherever the damage is greatest.

What Is A Hair Mask?
A hair mask is a deeply nourishing and hydrating hair treatment. It is more intense than a hair conditioner with more concentrated ingredients that penetrate the hair rather than just stay on the surface of the hair.
Hair masks are usually applied on your hair for longer than a conditioner. Sometimes they are even left on overnight.
The length of time a hair mask is applied depends on its ingredients and whether you apply it to damp hair or dry hair.
Good hair masks such as those listed in this article will result in significant benefits to your hair after just one use. Hair masks are great to use before attending special events to have your hair looking its absolute best for those occasions.
Hair Mask Benefits
Hair mask benefits will vary from hair mask to hair mask depending on the mask you use, its ingredients and your hair type. Hair mask benefits generally include:
- Seals in moisture and rehydrates dry hair
- Strengthens hair
- Eliminates frizz and smooths hair
- Reduces hair breakage and damage
- Enhances shine
- Softens hair
- Boosts scalp health
- Reduces heat styling damage
- Reduces environment caused damage to hair.
Purple hair masks have the additional benefit of removing unwanted brassiness from blonde coloured hair.
Applying a hair mask at home is more economical than attending your hair salon for a hair treatment. It is also more convenient and quicker than attending a salon.
How To Choose The Best Hair Mask For Your Hair
There are several important factors to consider when choosing the best hair masque for your specific hair.
Hair Type
The most important factor to consider is your specific hair type and its specific hair needs. Different hair masks are best for different hair types. Fine hair, dry hair, damaged hair, coloured hair, blonde hair, curly hair and thick hair will all have different specific hair masks that are best for each of them.
For example, the best hair mask for fine hair will have a lightweight formula that won’t weigh it down whereas the best hair mask for dry hair will be an intense moisturising and hydrating mask usually formulated with butters and oils such as argan oil. The best hair mask for curly hair is one that will soften and hydrate your hair while redefining your curls and the best hair mask for blonde hair with unwanted brassiness will be a purple hair mask.
In this article we identify the best hair masks for each different hair type.
Hair Mask Formula
Hair masks usually have one of three different formulas, either creamy like a thick lotion, clay-based like a thick paste or a lightweight gel-like formula. It is important to choose the right formula to match your specific hair type and hair concerns.
For example a lightweight gel-like formula is best for fine hair so as not to weigh down the hair, whereas a creamy formula is the best hair mask for thick hair and dry hair to provide more intense nourishment to the hair.
Hair Mask Ingredients
Check the ingredients list of the hair masks you are considering to see if they contain ingredients that will provide the results you are needing.
For example of you have dry or frizzy hair look for moisturising hair masks containing natural oils or butters as their main ingredients.
If you have damaged hair look for hair masks containing both strengthening ingredients and also vitamins and other essential ingredients for nourishing your hair.
Fine haired people will want to choose a hair mask with additional volumising ingredients.
Purple hair masks are the best hair mask for bleached hair with unwanted brassiness.
How To Use A Hair Mask?
Most hair masks work best when applied to clean, damp, towel-dried hair. This ensures the nutrients in the hair mask are absorbed into your hair better. Therefore shampoo and condition your hair first and towel dry it. Then apply the hair mask.
There are some exceptions to this general rule however so always make sure you read the instructions on the hair mask to see if they recommend applying the mask to damp or dry hair. Some hair masks, especially oil based ones, recommend being applied to dry hair.
If you have thick or long hair, section your hair into two or three parts.
Apply the hair mask with your fingers from the roots to the tips of your hair in each section. Use a wide-toothed comb to ensure the hair mask is evenly spread throughout your hair.
If your hair is oily apply the mask from mid way down your hair to the ends.
Twist your hair into a bun and leave the hair mask on for the recommended timeframe. This can be from 15 minutes to overnight. Do not leave a hair mask in your hair overnight that isn’t specifically formulated for this longer duration.
After the recommended timeframe has elapsed thoroughly rinse out the hair mask with either cool or lukewarm water. Cooler water helps to seal the hair cuticles ensuring your hair retains more moisture and restorative nutrients. Avoid using hot water.
Finally, either air dry your hair or add a heat protectant and styling products and to style your hair as usual.
How Frequently To Use A Hair Mask
Start off using a hair mask once a week and then adjust the frequency depending on your results and needs. If you have dry, frizzy or damaged hair you may need to use a hair mask once or twice a week. If you have healthy hair you may only need to use a hair mask once every 2 – 4 weeks.
